Awesome, thanks for posting, Mindy! The 2009 Graduate Showcase was a great event. I would recommend to all BECA MA students attending and/or showcasing works.
Here's some info on the department graduation, by the way:

Profile Information
- What semester and year did you join the BECA MA program?
- Fall 2006 (I'm an old timer in this program now.)
- What are your media emphases and practical experience? If you have graduated, what do you do now?
- THEORY: Critical/cultural studies, media and body image, media and disability, international media systems, new media studies, pedagogy of media studies
PRACTICAL: My actual work experience is in radio production and programming, news reporting, and interactive media (podcasting, streaming and the like). Currently working @ CBS Radio as a web director and with the Teen Environmental Media Network as the TEMN program coordinator.
- What BECA classes have you taken / do you intend to take?
- 485, 700, 701, 702, 707, 752, 822, 852, 899 (Men, Body Image and Media research project) and now 896!
Took my production requirements @ CCSF - glad to answer any questions about their BEMA (Broadcast and Electronic Media Arts) program over there!

- Thanks for listening! Yeah, that was a very strange episode. The use of that spray involved some rather shady corporate ties and unwillingness to divulge information. I'm glad it was stopped. If you're interested in listening to other shows, I recommend the nuclear weapons one. And I'm doing a show next week on peak oil, which should be very interesting.

- Poland?! OMG... that's awesome:-) We should totally do it when I get back (after 20th)! Yeah, there is a lot to see here.... over a 1000yrs of history so plan a long vacation:-D
One thing I can tell you know- do not fly Polish Airlines... People there give this country pretty bad name LOL.. Lufthansa, KLM/NWA :-)

- Hey you! Class was def. a blast! I soooo appreciate your questions and great imput in discussions!. I know I sound like a teacher, but for me being here is a huge learning experience and you helped me a lot in understanding current (very important) issues.. Your 702 idea: educating corp. world on how to enable their websites to people with all sorts of disabilities was in my opinion BRILLIANT! No wonder Maegan got super excited :-)
I'm taking 707, 701 and some undergrad class this coming semester so hopefully I will see you in class:-)

- I know what you mean - BECA is great but expensive. Despite my inner desires, my scanty budget means I have to get in and out of the department as quickly as possible. I would love to have some involvement with it in the future, though, maybe teaching a class or something. But that wouldn't be for a while.
Anyway, hopefully we can all get together at some point soon. The last gathering at Stow Lake pagoda was great - maybe we can pick up all those, such as your fine self, who weren't able to make that occasion. It was great.

- Hey Mindy - thanks for the note the other day about the Grad Lounge. I put in a service request to CATS but it looks like they've reattached the wonky lock but the lock now won't respond. Big bummer, especially at this time of the semester. Good news is that when it reopens we might have a new printer in there! Watch this space...
