On Friday 27th February, I presented another episode of "Terra Verde", an environmental radio show broadcast on Berkeley's KPFA station.
This week, two guests joined me live from Power Shift 2009, a clean energy summit in Washingon DC attended by 10,000 young people. The summit was designed to put pressure on the political establishment to make swift decisive moves towards implementing clean energy across the US and to connect thousands of youth environmental activists to enable them to share ideas.
My guests were May Boeve, 25, a coordinator and member of
350.org, and Martin Macias Jr, 19, who has worked with Illinois Representative Luis Gutierrez to start after school programs in Chicago public high schools sustainability, climate literacy and action. Both May and Martin were great guests and showed intelligence and passion ahead of their years. I really enjoyed talking to them.
You can listen to the 30-minute show by downloading the below MP3 or by streaming the show
here. Also attached below is the runsheet for the show, which includes my script and questions. This might give you some insight into how such a show is put together and what hosts take into the studio on the day.
Enjoy!
